Don't Forget Item Upgrades: 10 Reasons Why You Don't Have It

Don't Forget Item Upgrades: 10 Reasons Why You Don't Have It

Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.

In most cases, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade equipment due to their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a form of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They improve the performance of the item they are attached to. Armor upgrades are found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternately, they can be rescued from items with upgrade components in them with a professional or higher salvage kit.

The amount of damage an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of a piece armor will increase when it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it must be heavier.

There are several different types of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Certain upgrades grant armor an additional number of health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item will receive will be identified by the name of the upgrade as indicated in the table below.

item upgrade  of the upgrades also require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades require charges for use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges for these upgrades change daily or never expire, according to the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest way to improve your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant boost in stats, and are worth the cost.

Upgrading a piece of armor to its maximum upgrade level will dramatically increase its defense capabilities, but the player should be aware that putting on weight will dramatically reduce its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor past +9. The boost in defense usually isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain weapons come with special upgrades that enhance their inherent qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

The majority of upgrades to weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade to apply. These can be obtained by doing side quests, or killing a certain number of monsters or bosses, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.

To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of bars. The more bars you need to complete an upgrade, the more advanced the level. The cost of upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could continue to do this until you reached the max upgrade level of the equipment or weapon, following which upgrades would reset.

It's possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. You're better off buying gear that has minimal upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These will then be able to give you the best tier of bonuses and blessings.

To increase their level faster, many players prioritise upgrading their weapons. In addition to these players, they should think about upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to increase their power and effective. Shepard for instance should upgrade his M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are placed in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is the process of creating them. You combine the gemstone with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the jewel, the better its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or by salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.

The quality of a diamond can be improved at the Jeweler, with stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the tier the jewel is in when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons or other gear.

All levels of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a certain level to be able to get these. Jewels can be substituted with another one without damaging the original. However it is only possible to replace a jewel in an equipment piece once.

The use of more jewels in the movement will make it feel smoother, and is often used for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to them.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your shields and weapons. These are a small perk and can be swapped out at any time but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as traits or aegis can't be swapped, and can only be found by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets can be used to give your character various small, but useful advantages. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and by doing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket a player will unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but valuable boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they'll be able to purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in the same way to how a player acquires weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with a slot for an upgrade which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be placed in any kind of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and only works with specific types of trinkets.

These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't fighting. This lets a hero be more efficient while inactive. It can also compensate for the absence of strong slot in the talent tree or team that are normally filled by the hero's optimal stats.

A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing in the near future, then any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item that is being upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade, since it's generally better to upgrade just one crucial stat than two subpar ones.

At the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their trinket into a red one, while top and middle players usually choose a green or pink ward (depending on the matchup). These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.

Aside from the things mentioned above, players can find other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For instance, completing the main quest for a chapter or beating the boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
